They had a dream: camping Del Mar, the story of a family saga
In 1967, Alain and Ghislaine QUILLEVERE decided to create the Al Sol campsite, which they sold two years later.
In 1970, they decided to make their dream come true by creating Del Mar. A family campsite just a stone’s throw from the sea.
They first bought a 9,000 m² plot and continued to buy year after year. The land was farmland only at the time.
It should be added that all the trees on the campsite were planted by Alain and his son Yannick, on their own.
Far be it from them to have such a large campsite.
Del Mar was made up of several lanes with pitches that weren’t really demarcated and only accommodated tents and a few caravans.
Del Mar’s family atmosphere has helped build customer loyalty from the outset.
In 1970, in her first year, Ghislaine QUILLEVERE ran the “little grocery store”, selling only bread, butter, croissants and milk.
That same year, the first sanitary facilities were installed.
Three years later, in 1973, a wooden grocery store was built, offering a wider range of products.
In those days, there was no reception as such; it was held in the owners’ home.
Modernizing the campsite
The modernization of Del Mar is the result of two major advances.
The first came in 1984 with the construction of the swimming pool. The second came in 1992 with the installation of 25 “bengalies”, the first wooden chalets and mobile homes.
A major turning point in the modernization of the campsite came when Yannick and Agnès QUILLEVERE joined the company in 1984.
In the early 90s, Joëlle QUILLEVERE joined the Del Mar team.
Four years later, in 1996, theHotel Antinéa *** was opened. The hotel was subsequently converted into studios and apartments(Résidence Antinéa NC).
They would see another family member join them: Nicolas Quillévéré in 2005. A computer enthusiast, he helped modernize Village Del Mar by computerizing the system.
Before that, at the age of 14, Nicolas was making pizzas at the campsite.
Benjamin Quillévéré, his brother, joined them a few years later. A plant enthusiast, he has developed an unrivalled landscaped area. Flowering and greenery are Del Mar’s strong points.
In 2006, the La Juncarole campsite was bought out and named ” Clos Du Thym “. It is managed by Nicolas and Benjamin.
As our core business is the sale of mobile homes, Le Clos du Thym is a very residential campsite, open all year round.
Since 2011, Marine Quillévéré, Nicolas’ wife, has decided to contribute to the life of the campsite. As for Marine, she places quality at the heart of her concerns. Since her arrival, she has been in charge of the Résidence Antinéa, ensuring the well-being of her guests every year.
2012
In 2012, the campsite took a new turn by becoming a 4-star campsite, with the arrival of a new 3-lane aquatic area. Del Mar has also been awarded the Sud de France label and the quality tourism label.
2015
In 2015, it was awarded the Famille Plus label. We are committed to the quality of our services, so that you can enjoy your vacation in the best possible conditions.
2018
Since 2018: ranked among the top 10 campsites in Argelès-sur-Mer (TripAdvisor traveler ranking).
In 2023, the family legacy continues with the arrival of another family member, Emma Quillévéré, who shows a particular commitment to our family values, and who will continue to drive the Del Mar Village group forward alongside the other family members.
